My FED 3 was one of the first legitimate Russian rangefinders. I liked the FED line-up, especially the looks of the FED-1, but found myself way too lazy to consider slitting the film leader for every roll that I shot. The FED 3 managed to fulfill every one of my camera-buying criteria, as it was cheap, from an interesting place, old, and gave good pictures after much fussing.
