The Kiev 4 Camera
![]() There are a bunch of cheap Russian rangefinders on the market, but the Kiev is not one of them. It's usually priced significantly higher than your average Fed-5. I bought a Kiev, mostly out of curiosity, but have realized that I lucked into buying a very nice little camera. It's got a fast 1.9 lens, is sturdily built and is a bit more error-friendly than the typical Russian camera of that era. This camera is a clone of an old Contax model. The Soviets often imitated successful foreign cameras like Leicas and Contaxes. |
